Review Summary:

The Bosch Serie 4 SMV50C10GB is a reliable integrated dishwasher that can hold up to 12 place settings. While it may not be the most advanced machine out there, it does have some nice features and it provides good cleaning performance. At this price, it offers a good value for people that are looking for a quality integrated dishwasher that is well made.

As a Serie 4 machine, the Bosch SMV50C10GB might not have all of the top features from the brand, but it does do well in regard to the quality of the build and the performance. It is a good machine that offers easy operation, and it provides the user with a good level of efficiency, using an estimated 290 kilowatt hours per year.

The interior of this model has all of the basic options that you would expect. There certainly are machines that offer more versatility for the loading, but it does have folding racks in the bottom, the cutlery basket and the top basket is height-adjustable. The max capacity is 12 place settings, and users should not have many problems with fitting in large items.

For washing programs, you have a nice selection that covers all of the basics. The intensive wash can be good for dishes that are heavily soiled, you have an eco wash for saving energy, it has the normal program, plus it has a pre-rinse and a quick wash. Nothing particularly fancy about this selection, but it is enough to do all of your standard dishwashing.

In regard to the features, the SMV50C10GB does not offer a lot to write about. The only feature that the user can control is the VarioSpeed option for reducing wash times. It does not have a half load, but the machine is equipped with Bosch’s LoadSensor for detecting the size of the load. This will adjust the operation to save water, but some people might prefer a setting that they can select on their own. It also has the AquaSensor to detect the level of grease and food in the water. With this feature, it will manage the washing to ensure that the dishes come out clean.

The controls on this machine are fairly simple and they are well laid out for easy use. As with most integrated models, the control panel is on the top edge of the door. It has a forward and backward button for cycling through the programs. In addition to that, you have a button for turning on the VarioSpeed option. You do not get a display or a countdown timer, but the SMV50C10GB does have the InfoLight. With this, the machine projects a red light on the floor to let the user know that the cycle is still running. In addition to that, it has indicators for low salt and low rinse aid.
