Review Summary:

This recommended Hotpoint dishwasher holds 13 place settings so is ideal for the larger family. It costs £44.25 a year to run which is about average for a machine of this size and capacity. The dimensions are 85 x 60 x 60 cm and it uses 1.04 kWh of electricity per cycle and 11 litres of water.  The quick wash takes 60 minutes. This model features a special ‘delicates’ programme so that you can wash china and crystal as carefully as if you were washing them by hand. It uses a residual drying system and has an A+ energy rating level, saving you money on fuel bills.  The machine runs pretty quietly at 49 dB.

This dishwasher features 5 programmes in addition to the extra delicate cycle and it has a choice of 4 temperatures. It has LED indicator lights for rinse aid and salt and it will also tell you when it’s finished working with a beep when the cycle is complete.  The control panel is easy to use with a simple dial to select the programmes.  The dishwasher is cold fill so will only heat up the water you need, saving on energy. One drawback of this machine is that it doesn’t have a child lock.

The FDYB11011P has adjustable racking – the plate racks at the rear fold down leaving room for larger items such as casserole dishes or saucepans. The machine has a half load function and is A rated for washing and drying performance.  It has 2 cutlery baskets which are removable, one for larger utensils.  Most customers were pleased with their purchase saying it did a great job of the dishes and was a good quality build. The Hotpoint FDYB11011P retails at around £249 and is a very affordable option if you’re looking for a standard-sized machine.

  1. i have had 3 hot point dishwashers and found them all to be useless my latest one 14 months old has just broken, with lights flashing, washes for about twenty minutes then just stops, they are rubbish

    1. See my post below. I cannot believe this machine is being recommended as a Best Buy. I would happily put it out even though it is still “working” and replace it with anything but a Hotpoint. I just wish I had complained before the guarantee ran out but I did not want to give house room to another Hotpoint ! Please take it off the Best Buy list!

  2. I agree with you. We bought the Hotpoint style in July 2014 and have been very disappointed especially after Which recommended. It. I did not complain initially because I thought I was not au fait with all the programmes. Having now tried all options, dishwasher tablets, etc. I now believe the machine is very sub standard. Every second dish seems to need to be hand washed after being through the intensive, normal or Eco programmes. It makes no difference. I rinse the dishes before washing them but unless I actually wash them properly by hand with detergent etc., half the dishes come out dirty. Another complaint is that our dinner plates which measure 260mm do not fit in the plate racks on the bottom tier and have to be washed flat in the top rack. The cutlery holder does not fit well anywhere without compromising the space..the machine is shoddily made and the parts are flimsy. My advice to potential buyers is Don’t touch it.

  3. Hi I to have problems as hotpoint recommends finish products’ to use their soap detergents are solid so went straight out to makro to big bags of tabs, we use them and notice when finished the soap was still there the dishes not clean we tried every setting so we had to give away those tabs the liquid ones work as for the dinner plates they fit on the bottom shelf if you lean them over ps its not a very good dishwasher
